Reimbursement Scam
Scammers state that they will help you earn a lot of money. All you need to do is send them over a small portion of funds along with your confidential personal information, and they will send you back $10,000. Sounds great, right? Except when you send them over this information and a small portion of the money, they block you and you never see the $10,000 that they promised you.
Romance Scam
With a romance scam, you meet a beautiful person on a dating app and they seem super charming. You guys start messaging on the LINE messaging app, and they continue to talk with you every day about anything you want to. They seem like they are your dream person, and nothing can go wrong with them.
However, once you start to trust them, they start asking you for small amounts of money for little things, such as groceries for the week. Then, they ask you for money for emergencies that are related to their job or their livelihood. Once they have drained your bank account, they stop communicating with you and block you, taking your money with them.
