I was 19 and pretty naive because I never did anything before with a guy and trusted people. His Grindr profile was blank and said his age was 26 and average shape. He said he was handsome and his phone glitched when he sends photos so I believed him. We went to get pizza and when I stepped out of my car, this old man was waiting for me. He was definitely not 26 and he was around 300 lbs. Creeped out but might as well enjoy pizza on him right?

We got to a bit of talking and he kept telling me vulgar things like how he cannot “do the deed” less than three times a day and how dedicated I had to be to him or else he wouldn’t consider even dating me. Eventually, he told me his real age is 45 and that he’s a dental student. I asked him to take off his baseball cap because I was curious if he had hair or not. What I saw was a huge horn. He said it’s a very large cyst on the top of his head and he shaves his head to avoid irritation or something. Imagine cartoon characters getting bonked on the head and having the large, swollen lump afterward. That was what I saw.

After pizza, I acted like I had a decent time and would message him later. I would actually block him the second I get into my car. Since I was parked further away, he offered to take me to my car via his car. I said sure because I felt he was harmless although very creepy. In his car, he asked if he could inspect my teeth since he’s a dental student. I said no but he strongly insisted and I said whatever. That’s when he took out his belt of dentistry tools and unrolled it. He puts on a headlight and starts picking at my teeth. I didn’t know what was going on but I didn’t like it. This guy is weird and doesn’t know proper etiquette. I told him my phone dropped on the side of the seat so when I went to get it, I left the car and drove off in my own car.

So from now on, I make sure the person I’m talking to is real and at least get to know them a bit before meeting at a public place.

I had a weird experience on Grindr. So I was talking to this guy and there and he said he wanted to meet. Bonus points cause he wanted to meet at a coffee shop first (Huzzah a public place). I walk in and see him. He’s pretty cute! Surprise, he forgot his wallet so I pick up the bill (Meh, don’t really care, but still). So we are sitting there and talking and within 5 minutes of talking he actually asked if he could move in with me. I was like oh sorry man I’m not looking for a roommate.

“Oh, no I mean as your boyfriend.”

See, I should have seen the ‘red flag’ at that but for some reason, I still brought the dude home. So we are sitting on the couch and blah blah blah he really wants to do things with me. After things happened, he has a look of pure euphoria on his face. The exact quote that he repeated about 15 times over the next hour was “Oh my god, man. I feel your life force in me. I feel you inside of me. You’re gonna be a part of me forever!”

So, we go outside for a smoke. I guess I had gotten a bit quiet after the whole “I’ve ingested your life force deal”, so he must have thought it would be a good icebreaker to say “Hey did I tell you I can talk to animals?” What gets a person talking faster than that. He told me he can talk to animals (but not sea creatures). His favorite to talk to are deer and dogs but has problems talking with birds cause they talk too fast for him. At this point, I’m like I’m pretty sure this dude might actually be nuts. I tell him it’s getting pretty late and he asks for a ride home.

I’m like “OKAY LETS ROLLLLLLL OUT!” Trying not to be a jerk though.

Tells me where to go. I shit you not, we pull up to a halfway house for people who were recent residents of the psychiatric ward (I didn’t even know there was one in town till he explained it to me, in detail). Now please believe me – I hold no judgment to the fact that dude had mental instability – at all. It just kinda shocked me since I jokingly said to myself that I’d probably be dropping him off at a place EXACTLY LIKE THAT and it turned out to be true.

He messaged me for about 2 weeks constantly telling me he could still feel my life force in him and he wanted to marry me and live with me forever. This was about a year ago and haven’t been on Grindr since. I hope that at no point do people think that I’m being derogatory to the fact that he had his deal. He just wasn’t upfront about it. He kinda laid it all out there in a shocking way and it just threw me a bit. I was always nice to him after, but just wasn’t really looking for another date.

He proceeded to get pissed, began insulting me, and demanded I block him. Now, I’ll admit, I was petty and refused, stating that he could suffer through seeing my smiling face for a day.

Cue him switching to threatening to fight me. And him revealing that he knew my name and the street I live on. Throughout the course of the threats, he revealed that he somehow knew me from a gay club almost a decade ago.

It stopped eventually because I reported him to Grindr. But still. No idea who he is, and all this because I asked for a face.
