Messaging apps are a popular way of staying in touch with your loved ones, your friends, and the people you meet online that you want to keep in contact with (as long as they aren’t scammers). However, sometimes we tend to lose the information of the person we want to contact, or we want to find out if someone’s been on a messaging app without us knowing. One popular messaging app people use is WhatsApp, which is why its always good to know how to perform a WhatsApp search on an iPhone or Android.
What is WhatsApp?
WhatsApp is an American cross-messaging platform owned by Facebook, Inc. where people can go on it to converse via text message, voice message, and voice and video calls. It also allows users to share images, documents, locations, and other various media. You can download the app via computer, Android, or Apple devices.
How to Perform a WhatsApp Search Using an iPhone
- Open up your WhatsApp on your iPhone
- Go to your Chats icon at the bottom of your screen
- Go to “Compose” at the top right of your screen. This will automatically bring up a list of contacts.
- Tap the search bar on top of your screen and type the person’s name that you want to find.
- Tap on the contact’s name that matches the person you are looking for.
- A chat will pop-up with this person and will remain active until you close out of it.
How to Perform a WhatsApp Search Using an Android
- Go on your WhatsApp on your Android
- Tap the “Chats” icon on top of your screen
- Tap the green speech bubble icon in the bottom right corner of your screen to begin a new conversation.
- When your contact list appears, tap the search bar at the top of your screen and search who you want to find
- Once they appear on the list, tap the contact to start a conversation with them.
How to Perform a WhatsApp Search Using a Desktop
- Open up your WhatsApp desktop app or web version of WhatsApp, depending on which you use.
- Go to your Chats icon
- Go to “Compose”
- Click on the search bar and type the name of the person you want to find.
- Tap on the contact’s name that matches the person you’re looking for.
- Click on their name to start a conversation with them.
