The coronavirus is plaguing our nation, forcing most of our states to enforce strict stay at home orders to protect people from contracting this virus. There are so many people whose jobs were taken from them overnight, plans were ruined, and incomes scarce because of this virus that plagued the nation. Whether you have the virus or not, most Americans were infected by some shape or form by this virus, and cases are only increasing.
How Has the Coronavirus Affected the United States?
Within the United States right now, there have been 1,111,400 confirmed coronavirus cases with a total of 157,809 people recovered and 64,883 fatalities. Out of the 222,692 closed cases, 71% of people have been discharged from the hospital or have recovered from the coronavirus, and 29% of people have lost their lives because of it. This means there are 888,708 unconfirmed cases where we still don’t know the outcome.
The top 10 states with the most amount of coronavirus cases are New York (313,545), New Jersey (121,190), Massachusetts (62,205), Illinois (52,918), California (50,430), Pennsylvania (47,999), Michigan (41,379), Florida (34,728), Texas (29,229), and Louisiana (28,711). The 10 states with the least amount of coronavirus cases are New Hampshire (2,146), Idaho (2,015), West Virginia (1,136), Maine (1,123), North Dakota (1,067), Vermont (879), Hawaii (618), Wyoming (559), Montana (453), and Alaska (355).
This just goes to show that no matter what state you live in, you’re still around a lot of people who have the coronavirus. Most people have a relative within the top 10 states of the coronavirus, and even if you live in the 10 states with fewer cases the cases are still in the triple and quadruple digits. No matter where we live, we still need to keep a close eye on the coronavirus and social distance so that we can prevent getting it.
