Are There Scams on Elite Singles?

Users should still be aware of potential scammers when using the website and be cautious when sharing personal information. If a user encounters someone behaving suspiciously, they are advised to report the account to Elite Singles customer service. Elite Singles has safeguards in place to protect users from scammers, including an ID verification feature and profile moderation. All suspicious accounts will be checked and deleted. If you would like to see what other users’ experience with the app is, click here.

Types of Elite Singles Scams

Unpaid Members

Whether you use the app or website for Elite Singles, if you’re paying for a membership, this might be your biggest complaint. Since Elite Singles is not as popular as free sites like Tinder, many users create profiles only to realize they can’t proceed without becoming paid members.

Not wanting to pay for a membership, they log out and forget about their profile. This means that you’re paying for a membership and will often contact users who won’t ever get back to you.

Membership Scams

Another scam that happens on Elite Singles is related to membership fees. The service is relatively pricey, and members don’t read the fine print about recurring membership fees. You will need to cancel in advance. According to user complaints, it is improbable that a refund will be given if you contact Elite Singles directly.

One safeguard is to download the Elite Singles app via your App Store download. That way, should you have a problem, you can request a refund directly through iTunes/Google Play, rather than the site itself. According to an anonymous user in one online forum, Elite Singles will threaten to send your account to collections should your payment not go through automatically, contractually.

Fake Profiles

Worried your spouse or significant other is cheating on you? You might create a fake profile and browse the site. Unfortunately, if you’re honestly looking for a match, finding fake profiles is disappointing.

Many Elite Singles members who use the dating service to look for love receive an alert that profiles are deleted once they click on them. It can be frustrating to receive a welcoming user message and find the sender’s profile was deleted, possibly because they had a fake profile or were a spammer or scammer using a fake/stolen credit card. Fake profiles are also more likely to send you phishing links that could steal your personal information, leading the scammer to commit identity theft using your information.

Overseas Scammers/Catfishers

Imagine that you are a scammer or a premium girl looking to make money off a good dater. You might consider your fake membership on Elite Singles an investment on the way to making more money. Do not make the mistake of assuming that all members on paid websites are genuine. There is still a risk of 419/Nigerian scams and members that are not really who they claim to be.

Use safeguards to ensure users your safety. Never wire money to anyone. Do not immediately take communication off the site. Avoid communicating with anyone who isn’t local to where you live. Meet in public places. Should a user provide you with their name and phone number, do a comprehensive Social Catfish search to verify that the results match what you know about them.

How to Avoid Elite Singles Scams

• Don’t sign up for a paid membership unless you’re sure you want to use this site.
• Video chat the person you are talking to so that you can make sure they are who they say they are.
• Don’t send anyone you are talking to any money, especially through your bank or CashApp.
• Don’t give anyone any personal information.
• Don’t give anyone you meet online your contact information, such as your Kik username, email, or phone number until you’ve met them in person or had a video chat with them.
• Don’t add anyone on other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or Snapchat without confirming that their identities are true.

Are the negative reviews about Elite Singles enough to worry about?

Yes.

The site has an extraordinarily low rating and multiple complaints from users. The negative reputation is serious enough that the dating site has devoted an entire page dedicated to refuting the claims, found here.
